MCC Second Annual Thanksgiving

It was another beautiful and moving Thanksgiving Day at Maliotis Cultural Center. MCC employee and Holy Cross seminarian, Chris Katerinakis carried out the second annual meal surrounded by his fellow students, faculty, staff, and their families. Chris wanted to start this tradition under the guiding hand and support of Executive Director Chrysoula Kourkounti.

After losing his parents and being far from home in Texas, he wanted to honor their memory and the struggle to recreate memories of future holidays when you’ve endured such loss or when you can’t be near those you love at the holidays. Presvytera Chrysoula agreed without hesitation to honor this beautiful request.

We thank Chris and our beloved work study students who spent their holiday with him to help set up and celebrate this beautiful day. We are grateful for Chris’ creative energy and love of our beloved school and its students. So many came out to celebrate and it would not have been possible without his dedication, the support of the food provided and donated by the Dracut Family, and the beautiful venue of Maliotis Cultural Center under the direction of Chrysoula Kourkounti.  We hope everyone was able to celebrate today in some form or fashion. It may not always be easy with the struggles we face, but as we know from our faith, we are never alone in this life.

All are welcome at MCC and we are so grateful  for all who shared today with us.
