The Citizen TALES Consortium of Diaspora Studies (Citizen TALESCommons, The Hellenic American Project, Queens College, and The Institute of Eastern Mediterranean Studies, Emmanuel College) in collaboration with the Maliotis Cultural Center were honored to present an Evening with Award winning Cypriot Poet, Writer, and actor Kyriacos Efthymiou.

An introduction of the evening was presented by Dr. Vassiliki Rapti, Preceptor in Modern Greek in the Department of Classics at Harvard University, where she is also serving as Research Fellow in Greek Literature and Language Pedagogy at the Harvard Center for Hellenic Studies.

Mr. Efthymiou presented his work “From the Hunched Salt Merchant to the Red Horse.”

A beautiful reception followed which was curated by Cypriot American Chef Agni Charalambous Thurner. This reception included the kind participation of Maria Jane Loizou and Mona Yamazaki Sangesland of the New England Conservatory.

We thank Mr. Efthymiou for sharing his work with us all and we hope to welcome him back again soon.
