On the evening of Sunday, April 23, 2023 the Maliotis Cultural Center of Hellenic College Holy Cross hosted the Ancient Greek drama “Alcestis” of Euripides. The play included renowned Greek actors Demetris Lalos, Sotiris Tsakomidis, Demetra Kouza, George Triantafilidis, and Elena Mauridou.
The Maliotis Cultural Center was bursting at the seams as the production brought together theater enthusiasts, members of the Greek community, and members of Boston’s academic circles. The cast engaged the audience with the incredible performance and created an environment which evoked great emotions for all in attendance.
In their press release the production team notes: “That the production of the performances were undertaken by the company Generation Y productions in collaboration with the Maliotis Cultural Center which was the main contributor of this production coming to fruition, with the invitation of Executive Director Pres. Chrysoula Kourkounti. The performance attracted academics from Harvard University, and Boston College. Additionally, many non-Greek speakers were able to enjoy the production with the help of English subtitles”
