Inauguration of the "Mount Athos, Ark of Orthodoxy Exhibit"On September 14th. the official opening of the “Mount Athos, Ark of Orthodoxy” exhibition took place. It brings to life a virtual pilgrimage to the monasteries of the Holy. Visitors experienced monastic life in the 20 monasteries of Mount Athos through viewing of the exhibit panels.
The inauguration of the exhibit was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and many other esteemed Hierarchs, Reverend Fathers, and special guests. Mr. Robert Allison, President of the Mount Athos Foundation of America, officially welcomed guests after a luncheon to mark the momentous occasion. An Athonite monk presented on his life on the mountain and a newly discovered 1929 documentary film was shown to guests today as well. After Great Vespers in the school’s chapel, guests gathered for an evening banquet in which a Q&A was held and guests had a more intimate experience with the exhibit hosts and special guests.
