Evzones Practice
The Maliotis Cultural Center of Hellenic College Holy Cross is always excited to serve the needs of the Omogenia of the Greater Boston area and beyond.
For years young men of the Greek Community of New England have worked hard to represent the values of the Greek heroes by preparing and marching in the annual Greek Parade wearing the traditional garb inspired by the Presidential Guard of Greece.
They spend many hours practicing so that they can properly emulate the ceremonial dignity of the Evzones. MCC serves as their home base offering them a space to carry out these practices and also stores the intricate and authentic garb that they wear. This year, even though the parade did not take place due to inclement weather conditions, the Evzones of Boston were present at the events that did take place to commemorate Greek Independence – and once again made everyone proud with their traditional garb and stoic presence. MCC is happy to support the mission of the Boston Evzones in whatever they can!
