Empowering Greek Language Educators of the Diaspora through International Collaboration
As part of its ongoing outward-looking mission and commitment to educational excellence, the Maliotis Cultural Center is delighted to announce a new international collaboration with the University of Ioannina and the Department of Greek Education of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
Together, the three institutions proudly present the Greek Language Training Program, an innovative educational initiative designed to support and equip volunteer teachers of the Greek language within the Greek diaspora, particularly those without formal pedagogical training.
The program will run from January 17 to April 4, 2026, and will be offered online, through two-hour synchronous lectures, led by expert instructors from Greece and the United States. Participation is free and open to the public, with a limited number of available places.
At the conclusion of the program, certificates of attendance will be awarded by the University of Ioannina, including specific instructional credit units, recognizing participants’ commitment to the teaching and promotion of the Greek language.
This initiative reflects the shared vision of the Maliotis Cultural Center, the University of Ioannina, and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to strengthen Greek education worldwide, foster professional development within the diaspora, and build meaningful bridges between academic institutions and Greek communities abroad.
